Man City injury update: Latest news and return dates for Nathan Ake, Rodri and Phil Foden

Manchester City resume their Premier League campaign at home to Brentford on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won their first three games of the season and will be the big favourites to extend that record to four this weekend.

City, who have a habit of starting the season relatively slowly, do not appear to have lost a single moment of rhythm during the summer break.

Erling Haaland is in fine form and many of his stars involved in Euro 2024 are still unproven, which is a terrifying prospect for their title rivals.

However, the matches will soon pile up and Guardiola will undoubtedly need all his available squad.

With that in mind, here’s a look at Manchester City’s latest injuries….

Nathan Ake

Nathan Ake was forced off the pitch during the Netherlands’ clash with Germany on Tuesday night and will soon be assessed by City staff.

“It looks like a muscle injury for Nathan Ake, although I’m not sure,” said Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman.

Potential return date: Unknown

Rodri

Spain hero Rodri is yet to play this season after suffering a hamstring injury in the Euro 2024 final against England.

He was, however, on the bench in City’s 3-1 win over West Ham before the break, perhaps suggesting a return is imminent.

Phil Foden

Phil Foden has played just 45 minutes this season and withdrew from his last England call-up due to illness.

It remains to be seen whether he will feature in the game against Brentford.

Potential return date: Unknown

Savinho

Summer signing Savinho missed the win over West Ham but Guardiola recently appeared hopeful the Brazilian would return soon.

The Norwegian international could be sidelined for four months.

Potential return datee: November/December 2024
